Face washing 101
It's a simple process but here are our recommendations and tips for a flawless face wash.
- Pull back your hair: With a headband or elastic pull all your hair off of your face. You can't effectively wash your face with hair in the way. Tip: Pull hair off of your face at night. Change your pillowcase often. These will help keep skin clean.
- Cleanser: Splash a bit of water on your face. This will help to evenly distribute the cleanser.
Apply only a small amount of cleanser to the palm of your hand. A small amount is the size of a dime or pencil eraser. It does not take much so don't over use. Cleanser will last longer too. Massage into damp skin in a circular motion. The circular motion will help to loosen clogged pores. Don't forget, forehead, between eyes, under chin and little creases aside of your nose as they are important places for dirt to hide.
Completely rinse with water or use a wet face cloth to remove all cleanser. - Toner: This is a very important step not to be missed. After washing wet cotton ball or square with toner. We like the squares because they hold together better than cotton balls. Gently wipe entire face from ear to ear and from forehead to neck. Pay special attention to areas of concern such as hairline and aside of nose. You do not need to rub. Our toner does not contain any alcohol so it does not sting or burn.
- Moisturizer: Please do not skip this step. This step will help protect your skin from outside toxins while sealing in necessary moisture without any oily shine. Apply a small amount, again the size of a dime, to one hand. With fingers of the other hand apply small dots around your face. Then use both hands to evenly spread moisturizer. Remember to apply to your neck as well. Tip: For smooth soft lips, apply moisturizer to lips at night.
